A MASTER GARDENER VOLUNTEER
The North Carolina Cooperative Extension
Master Gardener Program is designed to educate the public in horticulture and related environmental concerns. Our volunteers are members of a diverse community who take an active interest in
Gardens, Lawns, Trees Shrubs, Wildlife and the Environment.
Each Extension Master Gardener Program is tailored to the needs of the county in which it is located.
Volunteers serve the community by sharing their interest and knowledge in gardening. If you are interested in gardening, have a desire to share your time and knowledge in the community, you are probably a great candidate for the Master Gardener program.
Students become Master Gardener Interns and will begin to fulfill the first year 40 hours of volunteer service required for certification.
