Weeding Wednesdays

Dying to dig in the dirt or volunteer for a community project? Jump start your year with a healthy dose of fresh air and outdoor exercise with the Master Gardeners as they tidy up the Teaching Garden (located behind the Ag Center Extension building).  Unless it’s raining, you’ll find us there most Wednesdays from 9am to noon. No need to schedule just show up Wednesday morning—by yourself, with a friend or in a group—and we’ll put you to work!

Pick your own?

Date that is!  Can’t make Wednesdays? Need a team-building exercise for your corporate group, or a fellowship outing for your church?  All groups are welcome to join us! To schedule a specific date, contact our Growline by email, or call 704-283-3822.

Shenanigans in the Garden

The Union County Extension Master Gardener Volunteers are hosting the third annual Shenanigans in the Garden on Saturday, March 16, 11am to 1pm. Kids, young and old, are invited to a fun St. Patrick’s Day celebration in the Master Gardener Teaching Gardens.

Bring the kids and join the Master Gardeners in the Children’s Garden area of the Teaching Garden at 3230 Presson Road, Monroe, NC 28112. The gardens are located behind the Union County Agricultural Center near the Greenhouse.

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day Garden-style! Activities will include making Leprechaun houses, listening to stories, flying kites, and finding all assorted types of mischief.  Come by yourself or bring your entire family. Take a stroll through the gardens, walk the Heritage Trail, join the fun, and bring a picnic.
