Looking for something to grow in your garden that blooms in the winter? Try Winter Jasmine. Long thin branches explode with tiny yellow blooms in early January. Birds love to nest in its dense arching structure. It works well on a slope and helps with erosion control. Stop by the Teaching Garden soon, and see if you can spot it! For more info about this beautiful plant, visit the NCSU Plant Toolbox.

Yes, plants do bloom in the winter, at least around here. Check out the Apricot tree, fragrant Edgeworthia and Lenten Roses.  Come walk around the gardens and see if you can spot some of these.
