Union County Extension
Master Gardener Volunteers

Picture
As part of the NC State Cooperative Extension program, the mission of the Union County Extension Master Gardener Volunteers is to foster a partnership to create a sustainable community through education and implementation.

What that really means is ... we are here to help, as well as teach, our community about good gardening practices, composting, integrated pest management, and home grown food production, just to name a few.

We would love to have you join us as a Certified Master Gardener. The training is thorough and professionally implemented. No prior training or formal education in the field is required.

Our Teaching Gardens and Heritage Trail offer a view into different styles of gardens with edibles, medicinal herbs, showy blooms, and shade-loving perennials.

Our gardens are open to the public. Come visit and bring the kids for a self-paced scavenger hunt in our gardens.
