Union County Extension
Master Gardener Volunteers

Hello Fellow Gardeners!

We appreciate your patience and staying in touch with us through these trying times.  As you know, we are limited in what we can do for public events and plant sales because we are adhering to guidelines regarding the number of folks that can attend our events.  But there are still lots of ways to stay in touch and learn more about gardening.

Check our web page mastergardenersunioncountync.org and Facebook page @UnionCountyNCMasterGardeners for updates concerning events such as fundraisers, Successful Gardener Classes, etc.

Send your gardening related questions to our Growline email ucmgwebsite@gmail.com and a Master Gardener will help you find answers. Toward the bottom of this page you can sign up for our new monthly newsletter "We Garden Union County" which has information and links to upcoming events as well as timely articles from the Union County Extension Master Gardeners. Check out the Gardening Ed portion of this website for helpful links, articles and contact information.

Tune in every Saturday morning from 8 to 9am to the WIXE 93.1 FM / 1190 AM Let's Get Growing call in radio show hosted by Union County Extension Master Gardeners.

Remember we are all in this together and we can still get our gardening done!
Thanks and Happy Gardening - UCEMGVA

Want to Become a Certified Master Gardener?

Picture
As part of the NC State Cooperative Extension program, the mission of the Union County Extension Master Gardener Volunteers is to foster a partnership to create a sustainable community through education and implementation.

What that really means is ... we are here to help, as well as teach, our community about good gardening practices, composting, integrated pest management, and home grown food production, just to name a few.

We would love to have you join us as a Certified Master Gardener. The training is thorough and professionally implemented. No prior training or formal education in the field is required.

Free Events, Classes
 & Plant Sales

Throughout the year we offer free gardening education classes, a community festival, garden tours, and plant sales. We recently added online Successful Gardener classes to make up for cancelled activities.

We also visit farmers markets and other community events where we answer gardening questions and offer educational activities for children.
